Upright Brooms
These unconventional conventional uprights will sweep you off your feet. With a variety of styles to choose from, including steel back and plastic block; light, average, and heavy duty for home, office, and factories.
Brooms have been used for centuries to sweep caves, cabins and castles. Before 1797, brooms in America were home and hand-made. Tree branches and brush were often used to sweep the floor and clean the ashes from the fireplaces. Sometimes crude brooms were fashioned by tying something on a stick or handle: straw, hay, fine twigs or corn husks. These crude brooms did not sweep well and fell apart after a short time, even though strong linen twine was often used.
Conventional corn brooms used today, while better made than in 1797, dry out, crack, break, and fall out. For a more durable upright broom, look no further than to Gordon Brush®. We offer two classes of upright brooms: our poly corn uprights, the Speedy Corn® line and our unconventional conventional uprights.
The Speedy Corn® line uses polypropylene fill that is heat sealed, riveted into a metal cap, and held in place with a steel band that helps to retain the fill shape. Speedy Corn® brooms are long wearing, washable and impervious to chemicals. The uprights are available in either a wood or steel handle; straight or angled trim type; flagged or unflagged trim style; brown, tan or yellow fill color, and average or heavy duty usage grade.
The unconventional conventional uprights are available with polypropylene or polystyrene fill, set in either an aluminum, steel backed or plastic block (2 models have a steel swivel socket, that sits on top of the plastic block to hold the handle). Handles are sold separately in four of the five brooms in this line. Different trim lengths and usage grades are additional options.
